The Nigeria Labour Congress and International Trade Union Confederation-Global join the rest of the world to Mark World Day for Decent Work on Monday 07th October 2019 in abuja.

Nigeria Labour Congress, join the rest of the Global Trade Union movement to call on the government to increase investment in care to generate economic growth.

Comrade Ayuba Wabba, President, Nigeria Labour Congress, who was represented by Comrade Anthony Benjamin NLC, VP. Said on the occasion of the 2019 Decent work “Investment in the Care Economy” must be at the center of government actions to bring back economic growth and build a new global economy that put people first.

He noted that, investment in care economy prioritizing investment in extended social protection to women, children, secured parental leave for both gender and change in work arrangement to allow workers to achieve the critical balance between work and family.

However, noted that, the challenges of indecent work are no less daunting, we know that in the era of neo-liberal globalisation, capitalism rule the world.

We are tired of a world where works are exposed to worsening health and safety situations with increased cases of deaths and injuries at work.

We demand that workers be treated with dignity in our factories, offices, schools, hospoand other work place.

Workers are not expendable commodity, we create the wealth. So we dammed regularized appointment, decent work hours, paid level, guaranteed remuneration at work.
