The National Women Commission in collaboration With NLC calls to end violence in the labour market.

Comrade, Mrs. Mercy Okezie, the chairperson of the National Women Commission of NLC addressing journalist at the course of the campaign today in Abuja said, all forms of Gender based violence either on male or female should be condemned.


” Sexual harassment is a violation of Human and Trade Union right, and as such should be condemned and stopped at all cost.

Comrade, Mrs. Rita Goyit, the head of women and youth NLC, leading the campaign delegation to the office of the permanent secretary of the Federal ministry of Labour and Employments in submitting of the letter for the support of the ministry to help stop gender based violence said, efforts should be made to protect all workers from all forms of Gender based violence.

In receiving of the letter of support from the delegation, the permanent secretary Federal ministry of Labour and Employments, Mr. Nwankwo William assured the delegation of good partnership to ensuring the stop to Gender based violence in the country.

However, he also said measures would be taken as series of meetings would be held in other to make sure worker’s right are met.

” We would reach out to every part of the country to ensure this campaign is taken to a greater height, Mr Nwankwo said.

” We all know that the president has just asend to minimum wage bill of 30,000 as such let the workforce of all labour increase.
